    The official Quake3Stuff.com Sponsors

This is your chance to WIN a NVidia GeForce2 GTS graphics card and a bundle of other prizes to boot. All you have to do is get cracking with your favourite mapping software and create the best, most realistic and of course the most playable Quake III Arena map known to man. The competition begins on 1st July 2000 and will run until 31st August 2000

Myself and RawShark will be the official judges of the competition although we will be running a poll for two weeks (or more depending on the response) after the closing date, while we judge the entries. Easy, you think... Well, you will be up against some of the best mappers in the 'First Person Shooter' community! If you don't already know what it takes to make a good map, head on over to the map reviews section to take a peak at what our resident map reviewer makes of some of the currently available maps.

The prizes will be awarded as follows :

    1st Prize

    • NVidia GeForce2 GTS
    • NVidia T-Shirt
    • NVidia CD Wallet
    • Quake3Stuff.com T-Shirt
    • Quake3Stuff.com Official Map - Loads of exposure etc...

      2nd Prize

    • NVidia GeForce2 MX
    • NVidia T-Shirt
    • NVidia CD Wallet
    • Quake3Stuff.com T-Shirt

      3rd Prize

    • NVidia T-Shirt
    • NVidia CD Wallet
    • Quake3Stuff.com T-Shirt

    Competition Rules

The following is the set of rules that all entrants MUST obey:

    1. The map must be a small to medium sized FFA map, in any texture style.
    2. All entries must consist of a .zip file that contains the .pk3 file and a readme file. The .pk3 file must also contain the readme file. RawShark will be very angry if this rule is not followed!
    3. All .pk3 files must have the same name as the author. If your name is Slayer, call your map slayer. This will avoid us having hundreds of files called Quake3Stuff and avoid overwriting errors.
    4. All .pk3 files must also contain the .map file as proof of ownership of the map.
    5. All entries must be submitted via FTP. Any maps received by mail will NOT be considered. The FTP details are as follows...

      Server:
      ftp.quake3stuff.com
      Port: 21
      UserName: Anonymous
      Password: <Your Email Address>

(The above upload method has changed due to timeout issues with slow connections. If you have previously attempted to upload a file via the Submit method, please try again via FTP).

    6. We will supply a new levelshot to the winning map which will then be renamed to Quake3Stuff and run on our new game server.
    7. The winning map, will remain the property of the author although we at Quake3Stuff.com would like to use the map as our Official map on a server we are due to launch in a short while. (this rule has been re-worded due to popular demand)
    8. Maps will possibly be voted for by Quake3Stuff readers, but only as a guide to Quake3Stuff staff. The final decision will be made by Quake3Stuff staff and that decision will be final.
    9. Author's name and address must be provided in readme file for posting of prizes. You won't get your prize if we don't know where to send it! Your email address will be kept by the Quake3Stuff.com staff and will not be made public without your consent.
    10. You may not submit your entry to any other map review website or release it in any form (CD, own website, etc) until after the competition is over and winners announced. If we see your map anywhere before the competition is over, you will be disqualified.
