God told me to by Gummo

Wonderful map based on an old church that uses custom textures galore - many designed by the author himself. He has also come up with a wonderful model for a Sleepy Hollow type tree, that scares you just by being there! All the lighting is excellent and I can't find any brush errors. Weapons placement would be the only construction issue I might have a problem with, and I certainly don't agree with the recommended max player load of 7 - I would say 5 at the most is loads.

The holy jumppads are a really smart idea, and I really like the holy teleporter - it's the coolest thing in the map. The architecture is apparently Swedish, but will look instantly familiar to anyone who's seen old b/w gothic movies. That's all the construction issues - and they're all pretty much thumbs up material.

The map plays damn well too. Human vs Human is preferable, because there are plenty of shadows to hide in (bots ignore light issues). The map isn't huge, but there are plenty of different play areas, some accessed in unusual ways. This is one of those few maps that contains a Flight item, so some very interesting battles are guaranteed up on the roof area. The bot file is good too - so all playability issues are okay.

Overall, this is a fantastic map, and certainly woth grabbing, even thought the custom textures push the file size up to 7.63 megs. The author had a nightmare building it (details in the readme), so I'm particularly impressed by this one. Apparently, it was a test by God of his dedication to all things Quake, as suggested by the title of the map! Enjoy, and remember to say your prayers before fragtime :)
