  • Interview with Ruut
    RawShark's map author interviews #5

    Author's name: G.C. aka Ruut
    Website: Organicfusion!

RawShark: Hi G.C. I'm doing a series of interviews with map authors for Quake3Stuff.com. Interested in answering a few questions for us?

    G.C: Sure

RawShark: What is your complete list of maps to date?

G.C: Organicfusion-a weird gothic/organic map A Night at The Fragsbury-A really fast space map that I made in one day Rail or Whine-a weak box map made for a friend. I also have about 5 unreleased maps.

RawShark: When is your next Q3A map going to be released?

G.C: I'm not sure but hopefully within a month or so. Tech style.

RawShark: Cool. So which do you prefer - gothic or tech maps?

    G.C: Tech.

RawShark: Ruutq3dm8 was a very impressive space map. Do you plan on doing more maps of this type?

G.C: Yes, probably. I'm not into space maps at all and this map was started by just playing around in the editor. I ended up completing it in one day and I was very happy with the results. I've had nothing but positive responses on it.

RawShark: Who is YOUR favourite author?

G.C: I really don't have one. I think the level of design is very high for "non-pros" and even though only a select few are known by name I feel there are better mappers who don't get their share of exposure.

RawShark: Have you ever visited Quake3Stuff.com, and if so, have you read the reviews of your maps there?

G.C: Yes and I think I did well - thanks for the positive reviews.

RawShark: No problem. And when is your new website going to be ready?

G.C: It's up - just lacking updates since real life happens to be pretty busy of late but I'll be back on it soon.

RawShark: Anything you'd like to say yourself to the Quake3Stuff readers?

G.C: I'm always open to any ideas and suggestions the community has. I had 4 maps I was going to release as a pak then Winbloze fried and I had to format and lost everything so I stopped mapping for a bit now I'm getting back on it. I hope to release new maps as soon as I can. When I design my levels I want to release something different so I am working on just that.

RawShark: Thanks for talking to us G.C.
