    Castle Morden by Castle

Reviewed by RawShark webmaster of RawShark's Quake2 maps

    Filename: q3morden.pk3

Castle has converted his own Quake2 map, Blast Chamber, to Quake3 to produce this highly playable medium size FFA map. It's a mix of gothic and tech in the ratio 90:10, I'd guess, and it looks great. I really like the textures that he has chosen and think he has been smart with the weapons/items placement.

One of the main features of the map is that the red armour is worth 200, not 100 - I don't know how he did that. This results in the heavier weapons such as Rocket Launcher and Lightning Gun being required to do any real damage to your opponents.

If I had to say anything bad about this map I'd say that it still looks like a Quake2 map, but this is irrelevant because it feels like a proper Quake3 map. It's a good job and neat to play. I recommend 4 player FFA with a high enough fraglimit. One worth having.
