    Agony & Ecstasy by Senn

The author of this map has studied early roman, greek and gothic architecture, and boy does it show here! We're talking gothic to the fraggin' max people. This is a large map that will suit around 10-12 players on a good fast server. It can get laggy in places, so if you don't have a neat connection, I recommend bot or LAN play for this one.

The design is awesome, especially for a first map by Senn. A wide open area is a critical domination area, with the RL and Quad both within that space. Below that a large room with the shotgun in the centre, another fragfest area on the map. Down through hallways and up and down stairs brings you to the other side of the map - my favourite area. Here players battle it out for the Railgun in the shadow of giant gargoyle statues cleverly created from the Uriel model. If you can successfully get yourself up onto one of the gargoyle's backs, it makes an awesome spot to rail someone from!

Weapons placement is well thought out, and a good selection of textures has been used. Only prob I might have is that a lot of red lighting has been used, maybe overused? A great map all the same. I look forward to other work from Senn. Nice1 :)
