    SpasmDM by Foreign_Militia

SPASMDM is the latest in a series of maps by Foreign_Militia of Quake3Stuff hosted site Temple of Arena fame. Surprisingly enough, each map to date has resembled some sort of gothic temple! This map is probably the best I've seen yet - it's like a highly playable and much improved revamp of the earlier ALTARDM. Construction is to the usual high standard, with some never before seen features such as wooden stairs and pillars, adding to the reality of the map and convincing me that Foreign_Militia is a top map author, and one to watch in the future. The nicest touch is
his trademark glass panel (and sometimes teleporter) with the high power weapon in front, this time it being the Plasma Gun.

Weapons and items placement has been thought out well, there being 2 of most items, placed in some kind of symmetrical pattern. There are 2 Rocket Launchers, 2 Shotguns and 2 Yellow Armours, so you're starting to get an idea how this baby is to play, yeah? Let me tell you now, it plays great! The author seems to be gifted at creating large maps with low speeds, and that is something rare, especially in these days of Quake3 Arena. I loaded up about 8 bots with this and it played fine, I'd love to see this map run on a server. Perhaps we could get the guys over at DNAGAMES to put it in their map cycle? Enough emails in that direction with my name mentioned somewhere should do the trick, I think.

What I really enjoyed about this map is the abundance of pillars to hide behind while your oppenent rains rockets in your direction, and then you come out crouched and Rail that mofo in the knees!! Excellent!! Sorry, I'm getting carried away. I'll just sum up by saying that I really enjoyed playing this map and think that it is definately one worth having on the now overcrowded with pak files hard drive. I look forward to seeing what this author will come out with next - another temple perhaps? I'm taking bets now at about 6-5 against. I know I'll probably lose some money........
