    Scrap Metal][ by Bal

Another fine work by Bal. He states that this was a conversion of his Quake 1 map called "Scrap Metal". Scrap Metal][ is an atrium style map with several interconnections running here and there. It a great map and it is currently in the Quake3stuff Map Cycle. We have spent many a tense hours gibbing away on this level, and will surely spend many more.

Bal used some ambient sounds from the sound factory as well as composing the entire level with textures from lunbase. Bal also mentioned that he thought r_speeds were a bit high on this map, but I haven't had any trouble at all. Of course when I am playing I turn things down as is opposite when viewing/reviewing.

I loaded up a heapin helpin of Bots's Galore and waited for them to run amuck. They actually roam quite well here, with the exception of grouping up in the lower section seen in shot 1, kind of in the hall/corner section, but overall they move about like a duck takes to water. I particularly like the placement of the mega health as it makes for a good strike when perched at the G/L location.

My favorite weapon the R/L is easy to reach, but that means that everyone can reach it as well. No matter, just jump off the bridge and run beneath for some armor and the L/G. I didn't care for the placement of this weapon, but I am not a fan of the L/G anyway.

If you fancy some intense action, then Scrap Metal][ is a must have.
