Another map submitted recently by a Quake3Stuff reader, BirthMachine is a gothic style space floater, 'cept it ain't in space. From all angles, it's definitely a pretty different style of map, and I must say, i really liked it.
Aside from the really good use of gothic textures and some very clever brushwork, I really liked the layout of this one - it's great the way you get to the RailGun platform, even though the pads aren't pointing in that direction (you'll see what I mean when you play it). There's only 3 weapons involved here as far as I can see (I never watch the loading screens when playing maps for reviews), the Shotgun, Rocket Launcher and (necessary for all floaters) the RailGun. Plenty of ammo to be found for each and a good bit of armour lying around. The map plays really well with 3 or 4 players. Bot file is included and makes for a good offline game.
Good map - excellent custom soundtrack, but 11 megs might be a bit much of a download for some ppl. Try mailing the author and asking if there's a version without the soundtrack available should your time (or indeed, bandwidth) be limited on the net.
