    ***QUAKE3STUFF MAP COMPETITION ENTRY***

    Deathmatch [bbB] by BomerLunder

Reviewed by RawShark webmaster of RawShark's Quake2 maps

    Filename: bomerlunder.pk3

Small (very small) DM map that really only suits 1on1, and fairly intense 1on1 at that. You must be more cunning than a cunning fox who has just graduated with his degree in cunningness from a rather cunning university to play this map and win. When the map starts, there are no weapons in sight. Weapons appear when switches around the map are activated - but be warned, each press of a switch also activates a trap designed to rob you of your lead in the deathmatch! There's not a whole lot more I can say about the map in terms of layout - it looks really simple. However, a devious mind was at work in the playability side of things, because this map is like nothing I've ever seen.

This map scored really high in our competition for originality, but was let down by some very plain textures (more custom textures would have been nice) and lack of visual appeal on the construction end of things. Playability would have scored much higher if the bots could get their head around how this map works. Unfortunately, they can't because the concept is so unique that it's not covered in the Q3A code. Also, if the map was a lot bigger it would have been much better - it's just way too small. Worth grabbing to see the most original map in quite a while. Weather you keep it depend on weather you have a degree in cunningness from a cunning university yet :)
