    ***QUAKE3STUFF MAP COMPETITION ENTRY***

    POSITION - 3RD PRIZE

    Iniquity by Kamarov

The 3rd prize winner in the great Quake3Stuff map competition. This map is highly playable, as me and my m8 PsychoMatic will testify after playing the absolute hell out of it! It's very much in the style of the base ID maps - particularly Gothic maps such as Q3DM1, Q3DM2 and Q3DM3. In fact, the texture set doesn't stray too far from the defaults and the architecture is pretty similar. Still, it's a highly original map and is extremely well constructed, the lighting is fantastic - and that's why it came in 3rd (and almost got 2nd).

Size-wise, it's pretty deceiving. The map looks small but is full of wide areas where quite a few players can battle it out, and yet plays just as well with as little as 3 players. I found the Railgun most acceptable as primary weapon, the Shotgun as secondary. There's enough armour and health to support a small DM - it starts getting scarce with more than 4 players.

The bot file is superb. Me and PsychoMatic battled it out with the Bitterman and Lucy bots and it was just like a real server match - you almost couldn't tell they were bots 'cos the movement was so fluid. Good work!

In an alternative universe this map would have won easily - it just so happens there were 2 other authors in the competition who were slighty better. It's really worth the download and is an absolute steal at just over 1.6 megs. I'll definitely be including this map on the server config file at a future date. Enjoy!
