    Lava Base by Racoon

Reviewed by RawShark webmaster of RawShark's Quake2 maps

Very neat looking tech style map that reminds you a lot of Quake2, if you were tuned into Q2 that is. It's a degrading lava base (God knows where) and the floors are starting to give way to the heat from the lava below, making for a very treacherous environment indeed. There are some nice custom textures, particularly the chains hanging from the ceiling - very good idea. Amongst the various weapons there are 2 Rocket Launchers, which adds to the heat of the battle. Plenty of stacked boxes (a la Q2) allow the more experienced player access to the top level quickly. This is a perfectly sized Tourney map, but should really only be used for LAN games or online play as the bot file is pretty bad - they just can't avoid the lava at all. Nuff said.
