TerritoryDM (War for Territory) by Foreign_Militia

When I played ALTARDM, I thought I was seeing Foreign_Militia at his map editing best - but this map is much, much more enjoyable. I can't stop playing it! It's big, really big, consisting of a very large room and 2 largish chambers at the sides. The main battle area is in the area that seems to have resulted from a large portion of the floor being cut out. Down here are items like Haste and Invisibility, adding to the intensity of the game. On pillars above this area, and accessible by jumping from the sides, are 2 sets of yellow armour and the all important Railgun. Yet again Foreign_Militia has created a map that takes the attention away from the Rocket Launcher.

For the more up-close-and-personnel player, you will find either the Shotgun or the Grenade Launcher in either of the 2 side chambers, the Grenade Launcher probably being more appropiate, given that many players will be down in the lower area of the map! The main weapon seems to have been intended to be the Plasma Gun that sits at the teleporter at the far end of the map. Like in ALTARDM, acquiring this weapon will usually cause you to be hurled into the fray once again, except this time armed with a better weapon. Placement of all these weapons is acceptable for a good 6-8 player load FFA.

Construction-wise, this is some piece of work. The architecture and textures are gothic and the lighting is very well done. Some of the brushes could use a few more curves, but I think the author has been really smart because he seems to have created a large map that still has very low speeds, probably due to his careful choice of where the curves went. Therefore, this map is perfect for online play with many players - which is the idea of a DM map but doesn't usually happen. The bot file is in good shape too, so offline play is just as enjoyable. A must-have map!
