    Time2Fly by Binaryshi

Reviewed by RawShark webmaster of RawShark's Quake2 maps

    Filename: time2fly.pk3

Poor Binaryshi was asking me for ages to review his latest map. Well, I finally got off my ass this weekend and did it (and oh how lucky you are m8 - I so nearly didn't!). I have no regrets about doing it - this map rocks! It's a Tech map with loads of bounce pads and Binaryshi's trademark non-curvey tunnels throughout. I suppose it would be possible to stay in flight for most of the map (hence the title) but I found myself on the lower, foggy level most of the time, having being knocked out of the air by rocket or plasma burst from my test bot's weapon (bots play pretty well btw). It's a small map, and due to the layout is very, very fast indeed.

There's a 50 health at the bottom of the map that you'll be looking to get regularly and I must point out here that the placement of a 50 health rather than a Megahealth is a sure sign of a smart thinking mapper - it makes you revisit the spot more often and hence makes the game more interesting with more players. Weapons are limited to Grenade Launcher, Rocket Launcher and PlasmaGun. There's a Red Armour in one of the tunnels. I'm gonna have to play this map a few more times to verify a few thoughts I have on it, but I can say now that I would have liked the map to be bigger and would really have liked a RailGun here. Otherwise I enjoyed it immensely and recommend grabbing it.
