    Model Name Animech
    Description : An anime-style Robot
    Author : Conor O'Kane
    Website : www.cokane.com

In the style of Tank Jr comes another heavyweight, whose unusual design, left me nonplussed as to what the author actually based his creation on. His description, "An anime-style robot" , certainly didn't help, and there isn't anything of a story in the readme. But I guess that isn't really a big part of building a Model, although a neatly hatched plot, always gives a Model an air of originality.

As I said, the build of the Model, is a bit unusual, mainly because there are two "wings" placed on the sides of the body, which look like they have been borrowed from a jetliner. I'm not too sure what the idea here is, cos to me the "wings" don't look all that good, and whats more, if you use this model, as your skin, it becomes a disadvantage, because you're obviously a much bigger target than you could be.

The hands and feet of the Model though, have been nicely done, with some matching black gloves thrown in. The legs have been fitted with a sort of robotic boots, but the midriff has been left a bit bare. The author has not been creative on the head though, leaving on it what seems like heavily oversized sunglasses, which almost cover the whole face.

Probably one of the better aspects of this Model, is the color combinations used by the author. The animech Model has been based on yellow & black, which normally is a good looking combination. The white "Tomcat" , is quite plain, except for theblack spots on the wings. The "skunkworx" and Team.ie bots have been given a mix of purple, yellow & black.

A big minus point for this Model, though, is that its got no new sounds. It uses Tank Jr Sounds. Not very innovative. I always am of the opinion, that if an author goes to the trouble of building an entirely new Model from scratch, then adding some new sounds shouldn't be too much of a problem. When you use sounds borrowed from a Quake Model, it knocks off a bit of originality.

There are 4 bots to choose from, with the yellow animech being default. The bot file is a decent one, although you might not want to bet on him putting up a good fight, on 1 on 1. Probably only the white Tomcat bot is really a challenge, and my guess would be, that you would tire of this Model quickly. CTF and Team support and skins are available, but once again don't think of keeping him in your Team in the face of a serious challenge.
