I've just got down from playing against this bot, and I must say I'm impressed by the resemblence of the film ant and this one. This probably is because the movie itself is animated, and now we see that same version in the arena... Animation within animation..
As I said the design and animation is VERY good. If you have watched the film, then there is no need of any description, because, to the author's credit, he has done a perfect job of getting the very same flic into Q3. The head, the antennae, the body, the legs, have really been done well, and the color also matches very nicely. There is a nice bit of animation added too. One of the death scenes, shows the ant's body fall to pieces. This has been really well done, and it shows a whole different mesh has been taken.
Its not easy designing models based on TV or film characters. You have to be sure that the details are correct, or some lunatic reviewer(like me) will find some fault, and harp on it(like all reviewers do.) This author deserves a lot of credit for this emulation.
The bot file is good. The model is not a multi-fragger, but yeah, he holds his own. Plus the Ctf skins are very clear too. The sounds had to be the same ant sounds, and they are, so thats also a plus point. Whats with the taunt though:"To infinity and beyond!"???
A very good download, and good model to add to your collection. If you are a "Bug's life" fan, then your gonna go nuts over this.
