Model Name : Lonewolf Description : A wolf like bionic alien bounty hunter Model Author : Joey "Beeper 9000" Davis
This Model is a refreshing change from the majority of bipedal man-like bots to be seen most of the time. I guess it was just a matter of time before someone had this idea, cos if you check out most models, almost all of them are bipedal.
The design of the bot is nothing spectacular, but as I said before, because its one of the first of the non-bipedal creations, it might catch your eye, the first time you see it. The classical canine form has been backed up by some very good bot movements, that is to say that the Model not only looks like a wolf, but runs, jumps and walks like one. The weapon is carried on a "belt" that has been strapped onto the "wolf's" back, and there is no indication as to how he fires it, but I guess that most of the body being bionic, this must be controlled in that way too. (?) There is long story regarding the Model in the readme file, but what I generally understood is that, Lonewolf is bounty hunter who has been stranded in the Arena by the Vadrigar.
The head of the Model has been completed with inflamed eyes and strangely enough, a cigar Now, how does a bipedal-hating wolf-like bounty hunter possess a permanent cigar? Well the author says that the cigar is the only bipedal creation which Lonewolf finds useful. Anyway, the rest of the model has been made with nothing out of the ordinary except for that "three spiked" tail, and a red line that runs along the bot's spine. The bionic right fore-leg and the red stripes across, where the ribcage is indicates that the author has spent a good amount of time getting the details right.
The bot file is very good, and he can be a very good opponent on 1 on1 . Once again though, the Railgun is the weapon that he is comfortable with. The Model comes with number of bots, but the Lonewolf bot is default. There are a number of advantages you gain, if you use this skin as your skin. For example, because the Model is not bipedal, the normal shooting range does not come into play, and you would find that most of your foes gunfire would sail over your head.
There are some very matching sounds to complete the Model, and that certainly is a plus point. The author says that he got most of the sounds from the game "Resident evil" , but in any case the wolfish growls and howls, fit the model quite well.
CTF and Team support is very good, although the Team skins could have been clearer, cos the colors are only limited to the hind leg. This causes plenty of friendly fire, if you've got Lonewolf on both Teams.
A very good bot file, makes this bot very eligible for a download, and I guess for most of us, who might have tired of the usual bipedal Model, this is a welcome change.
