From the makers of that great model Joker, comes another excellent creation; Riptor. A superb bot file, and some very innovative animation ensures the playability of this model.
The design of the Model is different from your standard bot; here you find a two- legged creature on which rides the "Dark Rider". The Dark Rider himself looks like Genghis Khan reborn, but once again much attention has been spent on getting the details right. The face, for example, is very well done (that is, the rider's), and the battleaxe slung across the body along with the headwear makes quite an imposing figure. The creature though, I couldn't quite figure out. It seems like, it had started with the idea of becoming a T-Rex, and changed its mind, halfway through the process. The result, is a bipedal creature, with big legs, and two smaller ones (that don't touch the ground), as forelegs. The face isn't a pretty sight, although that little bit of steam coming out of the mouth is a nice touch.
The bot file, once again is really well made. Bot uses all weapons, with the RG and RL being favorites. There are 3 bots to choose from; the default Riptor (ash & black ), Riptorblade (blue), and Riptorrage (Red). All perform very well, and you have to make sure you're not too rusty, cos they will quickly take advantage of any weaknesses.
If I could make any complaints about this bot, it would be with the sounds. Yes, they are new sounds, but to me they sound just plain stupid. Suffice to say that some of the pain sounds are like the ones you'd hear when a beserk bull on steroids is in your vicinity. The taunt sound is also nothing much to speak of, but I was very impressed by the taunt expression, which shows the rider pull out the battleaxe and wave it in a threatening manner. Quite innovative.
There is very good CTF and Team support, and the CTF skins are alright, although the colors could have been more brighter, to avoid any confusion. This Model is a worthwhile download, but once you play against him, you might want to turn down your speaker volume.....
